Thanks for pointing me in the direction of SF Signal, methinks that will come in handy. If you're into podcasts may I recommend escapepod.org probably some of the best quality stories in podcasting for when you need to rest your eyes.

It can certainly be overwhelming to think about how little one can truly read in a lifetime. I think even if I completely stuck to science fiction that I wouldn't even scratch the surface of all the books I want to read. And as much as sci fi is my first love, I cannot just read science fiction. Every year I go through phases where I have a hankerin' for fantasy, for classic literature, for more gothic, scary stuff. I plan to read more Flemming this year, more Wodehouse, etc. There are just too many wonderful books to stay firmly entrenched in one genre only.

But my plan for this year to delve into the sci fi classics and to balance that with books published in the last few years, including 08, has gone pretty well thus far and at least has me feeling that I have a better pulse on what is going on now and what went on before than I have ever had in my life. And I like being at least partially up to speed even if I cannot devote myself to it like some of these super readers can.
